Job Summary

This role will involve delivering qualified specialist psychological therapy services for individuals referred to our secondary care community care pathway. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams (MDTs) to support the development of individual care-planning, providing specialist psychological assessments, and formulating and implementing plans for formal psychological intervention and/or management of mental health problems.

About the Role

The post-holder will receive frequent clinical supervision and have regular access to a supportive peer supervision group. The ideal candidate will be able to communicate complex and contentious information in a skilled and sensitive manner, and provide training and support to facilitate the effective and appropriate provision of psychological care by all members of the teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • To deliver qualified specialist psychological therapy services for individuals referred to our secondary care community care pathway.
  • To work closely with MDTs to support the development of individual care-planning, providing specialist psychological assessments and formulating and implementing plans for formal psychological intervention and/or management of mental health problems.
  • To provide specialist psychological support, consultation, and guidance to other professionals contributing directly to the service users' assessment, formulation, and intervention plan.
  • To undertake risk assessment and risk management for individual service users, and provide general advice to other professionals on psychological aspects of risk assessment and management.
  • To communicate and receive complex and contentious information in a skilled and sensitive manner, in the course of psychological assessment and therapy.

The salary for this position is estimated to be around £60,000-£80,000 per annum, depending on experience. As a member of our team, you will have access to opportunities for professional development, including funding for additional formal therapy training and attendance at workshops and events.
