Job Title: Cable Installation Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Cable Installation Specialist to join our team at VEA Telecoms Ltd. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth installation and maintenance of our underground cable networks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Installation and Maintenance: Conducting Test, Rod & Rope (TRR) activities to ensure efficient cable installation and maintenance.
  • Technical Proficiency: Interpreting cable diagrams, duct plans, network diagrams, and schematics to identify potential issues.
  • Reporting and Evaluation: Performing risk assessments and creating detailed reports to track project progress.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnosing and resolving issues with cable routes, especially in underground networks.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring adherence to health and safety protocols and quality procedures.
  • Communication: Maintaining open communication with site supervisors and clients to keep them informed about project progress.
Requirements:
  • Experience: Previous experience as a TRR or Cabling Engineer is essential.
  • Licenses and Certifications: Full UK Driving Licence, NRSWA - (Street Works Operative), SA002 - Safety Underground, S7 PIA Sub-duct and Cable Installation, and K8 - Hand Roding and roping (Not Essential).
  • Technical Abilities: Proficient with mobile devices and tablets for work purposes.
  • Required Skills: Attention to Detail, Initiative and Problem-Solving, Mathematical and Telecommunications Knowledge, Manual Dexterity, Customer Service, and Strong Will/Determination.
