Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Observability Engineer to join our dedicated Observability Infrastructure team. As an Observability Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing and implementing observability solutions to help our engineers across the business see how their services are performing, interacting, and scaling.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer observability infrastructure to ensure seamless data collection and analysis.
  • Deploy and configure Open Telemetry agents to collect telemetry data and visualize it in Grafana.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to build scalable, performant, and cost-effective observability solutions.
  • Coach and collaborate with other platform and product engineers to share best practices on observability techniques and deliver value.
  • Develop custom code in a testable and sustainable way, leveraging languages such as Python.
  • Work with Terraform to deploy dashboards and alerts to our Grafana instances in a managed and repeatable way.
  • Work with stakeholders to translate product goals into prioritized platform requirements.
  • Work in a complex and evolving environment, leveraging multiple cloud vendors and our own data centers.

Requirements

  • Experience with Open Telemetry, Prometheus, Jaeger, and other observability tools.
  • Experience with containerization using Kubernetes.
  • Experience with DevOps tools like Terraform, Jenkins, or Ansible.
  • Experience working in an agile environment.
