About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Healthcare Assistant to join our team on the Women's Outpatients Department at the Cumberland Infirmary, Carlisle.

As a Healthcare Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care, working alongside experienced staff to deliver exceptional service.

Main Responsibilities

  • Assist qualified nurses in providing patient care, ensuring the highest standards of care and compassion.
  • Contribute to the work of the department, working under direct supervision in specialist clinics and indirect supervision for gynaecology clinics.
  • Prepare notes for clinics and return after clinic, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Provide care in a compassionate and sensitive manner, maintaining patient privacy and dignity at all times.
  • Undertake clinical activities using appropriate equipment, including ECGs, Venepuncture, and processing histology samples, when trained and deemed competent.
  • Contribute to housekeeping duties for the department, including ordering stock, putting stock away, cleaning duties, and general tidiness.
