Job Title: Application Support Team Leader

Venn Group is proud to be partnering with a non-departmental government body to recruit an experienced Applications Support Team Leader.

This is a permanent opportunity for a skilled professional with strong technical expertise in 3rd line applications support, SQL, and SharePoint administration.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage a small team of application and systems engineers, ensuring the team's performance aligns with organisational SLAs and KPIs.
  • Provide 3rd line support for business applications, addressing and resolving technical issues.
  • Collaborate closely with the finance team to support the existing finance application (Unit4 Agresso) and assist with migration to a Microsoft Dynamics platform.
  • Run SQL scripts and queries to support application maintenance and development.
  • Handle key HR responsibilities, including staff management, performance appraisals, and onboarding of new team members.
  • Engage indirectly with suppliers, with primary supplier management being handled by senior stakeholders.
Essential Skills and Experience:
  • ~3rd line applications support experience.
  • ~ SQL proficiency for scripting and reporting.
  • ~ SharePoint administration and setup experience.
  • ~ Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics.
  • ~ Management or leadership experience is not mandatory, but you will oversee a small team of two staff members.
  • ~ Knowledge of ITIL practices (v3 or v4).
  • ~ Proven experience in using Microsoft technologies such as SharePoint, Azure, and Windows.
  • ~ Experience with Service Now is not essential but would be desirable.
