About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Design and Development Engineer to join our team at Owen Daniels. As a key member of our Design Engineering team, you will play a crucial role in supporting our business strategy and delivering profitable growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop high-quality products for Defence applications, considering factors such as pressure, temperature, and environmental conditions.
  • Conduct detailed engineering analyses, including calculations, test plans, and qualification plans, to ensure performance, reliability, and safety in extreme conditions.
  • Review external analysis and validation data, including FEA, CFD, and physical test results, to ensure compliance with industry, military, and government standards.
  • Oversee testing for compliance with specified requirements and create prototypes for testing, including functional and environmental validation.
  • Analyse and troubleshoot valve failures, implementing corrective actions and design improvements.
  • Stay up-to-date with advancements in valve technology and recommend innovations for continuous improvements.
  • Ensure quality assurance and control processes meet or exceed specified standards.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with product design, production, and deployment.
Requirements
  • Engineering Degree in a relevant discipline, such as Mechanical, Aerospace, or Naval/Marine Engineering.
  • ~5+ years' experience in a relevant field, with experience in creating engineering calculations and design/product validation.
  • Proficiency in mechanical design using 3D software, preferably SolidWorks.
  • Excellent customer interaction skills, including specification interpretation and design reviews.
