Chef and Operations Director Opportunity at Retirement Villages Group

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chef and Operations Director to lead our culinary team at Debden Retirement Village in Essex.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the culinary team, planning and creating high-quality menus, ensuring food safety and quality standards, and delivering an exceptional dining experience.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement strategic menu planning initiatives to enhance the company's reputation for quality.
  2. Lead the culinary team with a hands-on approach and strong leadership style.
  3. Possess a strong drive for quality of food prepared across all hospitality events.
  4. Be responsible for all aspects of food safety, health and safety, and COSHH regulations.
  5. Demonstrate strong financial acumen and understanding to maintain and monitor all F&B costs on site.
  6. Hold collective P&L responsibility for food and beverage operations.
  7. Be responsible for all kitchen stock, taking into account stock rotation, storage conditions, and wastage routines.
  8. Conduct regular stock takes to ensure optimal inventory management.
  9. Maintain a clean and tidy kitchen environment, with regular deep cleans.
  10. Possess a passion for great food and excellent service, logistics, and delivery.
  11. Demonstrate financial astuteness regarding food costings and margin management.
Requirements
  • 5 hours a week, 5 out of 7 days

Estimated Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 per annum
