About the Business:

The company is a well-established organisation based in Hull, seeking an experienced credit controller to join their finance team.

With a workforce of circa 300 people and operating from multiple sites in the UK, the business has grown significantly over the last decade, expanding their finance team to handle over 15,000 transactions monthly, worth more than £30m.

The Opportunity:

This role involves performing key credit control functions for 800+ customers, ensuring timely payment receipt and accurate recording in accounting systems.

Responsibilities also include risk management, bank account reconciliations, invoice raising, and setting up payments on banking portals.

The Role:

Daily cash allocation and management of the company's debt, including admin & membership fees.

Weekly debt report creation for senior management and statement preparation.

Handling phone and email queries from internal and external sources, including payment enquiries, remittance requests, and copy invoice provision.

Clients' funds bank account month-end reconciliations and ensuring robust internal controls are in place.

Collaboration with the financial management team and escalation of matters as needed.

Liaising with other departments to discuss issues, revise processes, and build strong relationships with stakeholders.

Requirements:

A recognised UK professional accountancy qualification or part-qualified, working towards one.

Strong experience in credit control and cash allocation, along with account reconciliation skills.

High analytical skills, excellent communication, and robust planning and organisational abilities.

Decision-making skills, good problem-solving, and knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
