Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Support Worker to join our team in Children's Homes. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting and safeguarding children and young people in residential care, helping them to develop, build self-esteem, and contribute positively to their families and society.

About the Role

As a Residential Support Worker, you will act as a key worker, managing care plans, conducting risk assessments, and supporting emotional, physical, and educational needs. You will foster strong relationships with children through daily routines, joint activities, and positive behaviour management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support and safeguard children and young people in residential care.
  • Act as a key worker, managing care plans and conducting risk assessments.
  • Foster strong relationships with children through daily routines and joint activities.
  • Assist with personal care tasks for children with disabilities or complex needs.
  • Collaborate with families, professionals, and external agencies to ensure the best outcomes for the children in your care.

Requirements

  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Child Care (or equivalent), or willingness to complete this qualification within 2 years.
  • Recent experience working with children or vulnerable adults in a paid or voluntary capacity.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships with children, young people, and a range of professionals.
  • Ability to manage challenging behaviour using restorative approaches and de-escalation techniques.
