Job Overview

First Military Recruitment Ltd is seeking a highly skilled Highway Maintenance Specialist to join their team. As a Highway Maintenance Specialist, you will play a vital role in the installation of temporary traffic management systems and all aspects of highway maintenance works.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake routine and cyclic maintenance activities, civils works, and drainage works
  • Drive and operate vehicles/plant ensuring vehicle checks, routing maintenance, and cleaning are carried out
  • Participate in winter maintenance, including emergency call-outs and standby duties
  • Maintain accurate records, including drivers' hours and necessary paperwork
  • Ensure the safety of yourself and others within your team, adhering to relevant health and safety legislation

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a similar role, such as groundworks, civils, plant operations, or HGV driving
  • Strong problem-solving skills and self-motivation to deliver solutions
  • Good communication skills and ability to liaise with colleagues, sub-contractors, and clients
  • A valid HGV Class 2 licence is desirable
