We are seeking a seasoned facilities and venue professional to lead our team at the Royal Society of Edinburgh, Scotland's National Academy. With a passion for historic environments, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of our Grade A listed buildings in central Edinburgh.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in facilities management, with experience in leading teams and developing capital investment plans. Your technical skills and commercial acumen will be pivotal in creating modern, contemporary, and sustainable accommodation that complements the historic nature of our buildings.

As Facilities Manager for Historic Venues, you will balance delivering business-as-usual services with strategic planning and delivery of a significant capital investment project. You will be responsible for day-to-day facilities management, negotiating contracts, promoting the venue, and contributing to capital projects.

You will bring exceptional communication skills, a strong understanding of regulatory requirements, and the ability to manage key third-party contracts such as cleaning, catering, and security. Your passion for creating a culture that fosters individual growth, motivates the organization, and inspires innovation will be essential in driving success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the development of policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
