About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to join our team as Deputy Ward Manager at Countess Of Chester Hospital. This is an exciting opportunity to take on a leadership role and contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Ward Manager in the operational running of the ward, ensuring effective service delivery and a correct skill mix within the nursing team.
- Help with the flow of patients throughout the trust from the Emergency Department, ensuring seamless transitions and efficient care.
- Take the lead in training and development needs for all staff within Ward 52, working closely with the Ward Manager to identify areas for improvement.
- Provide leadership on a day-to-day basis, carrying out appraisals, ensuring compliance with mandatory training, and addressing HR concerns and Occupational Health referrals.
- Lead the team in the absence of the Ward Manager, ensuring continuity of care and effective decision-making.
Requirements
- Previous surgical experience is essential, with a strong understanding of clinical procedures and patient care.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively with other departments and teams, ensuring effective communication and coordination.
