Our client, a local authority in London, is seeking an experienced Planning Policy Manager to fill a 12-month maternity cover contract role. The successful candidate will lead a team of 4 Policy Officers in the development of the new Local Plan and associated policy documents.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead the team in the development of the Local Plan, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and relevant policies.
  2. Manage the examination process of the Local Plan, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality outcomes.
  3. Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure the new Local Plan meets all statutory requirements and relevant national and Council policies.

Requirements:

  1. Significant previous experience in planning policy development.
  2. Strong knowledge of UK planning legislation and policy development best practices.
  3. Excellent leadership and project management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team.

Contract Details:

  1. The post is a contract role that will run for 12 months.
  2. Our client is open to taking someone on either a fixed-term contract basis directly or as a contractor on a day rate via an Umbrella company.
