Job Overview

The Advanced Health Care Assistant (AHCA) plays a vital role in the Emergency Department, working as part of a dynamic nursing team to deliver exceptional patient care and support.

Main Responsibilities

The AHCA will be responsible for carrying out delegated work in accordance with the National Qualification Framework (NQF) at Level 3 and local policy guidelines.

Key duties will include:

  • Providing high-quality patient care and support in the Emergency Department
  • Working collaboratively with the nursing team to deliver effective care and treatment
  • Assisting with patient assessments, investigations, and interventions
  • Developing and maintaining effective communication with patients, families, and healthcare professionals

Person Specification

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Hold NVQ level 3 or equivalent in Health or Social care
  • Experience of working in a health or social care setting for a minimum of 1 year
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
