Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Waste Site Operations Officer to join our team at JT Recruit. As a Waste Site Operations Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our waste management sites, including the supervision of employees, management of waste operations, and delivery of training programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and manage employees in the waste management industry, ensuring they are trained and equipped to perform their duties safely and efficiently.
- Manage waste operations, including the transfer of non-hazardous and hazardous waste, and ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
- Deliver training programs to employees, including toolbox talks, safety briefings, and training packages.
- Develop and implement safe systems of work and risk assessments for all site operations.
- Ensure accurate records of waste movements and compliance with environmental permits and waste duty of care.
- Manage stock control of consumables, PPE, and equipment, and ensure efficient use of resources.
- Drive a Council 3.5 tonne box van as required.
- Handle customer complaints in a professional and efficient manner.
Requirements:
- Good IT skills and experience with MS Office or equivalent packages.
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with employees and customers.
- Good numeracy and literacy skills and ability to maintain accurate records.
- Experience in contract management and management of waste operations.
- Valid UK drivers' licence for driving up to a 3.5 tonne vehicle, and access to own vehicle and insurance to cover business use.
- Valid and relevant Certificate of Technical Competence with the appropriate evidence of continued competence.
Working Hours: 37 hours per week
