We are seeking a highly skilled band 6 nurse to join our team at Mull and Iona Community Hospital. The ideal candidate will have experience in acute clinical assessment and minor injuries, as well as general ward experience and the ability to demonstrate effective teamwork.

The successful candidate will provide guidance and leadership to staff in the monitoring, planning, implementation, and evaluation of individualized care. They will work closely with the GP on duty and be responsible for the clinical shift as a lone worker.

The hospital serves the community of the Isle of Mull and Iona, providing 3 GP acute inpatient beds and end-of-life care. The community casualty department offers emergency services, minor injuries, and out-of-hours care through NHS24.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical leadership and guidance to staff in individualized care planning and implementation
  • Work effectively within an integrated team, collaborating with the GP on duty
  • Manage the clinical shift as a lone worker, ensuring high-quality patient care
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures
Requirements
  • Band 6 nurse with experience in acute clinical assessment and minor injuries
  • General ward experience and ability to demonstrate effective teamwork
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
