Senior Biomedical Science Educator with Clinical Expertise

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Senior Biomedical Science Educator to join our team at Canterbury Christ Church University. This is an excellent opportunity for a clinical expert to share their knowledge and skills with the next generation of biomedical scientists.
The ideal candidate will have extensive practice experience in a clinical setting, especially in areas such as haematology, transfusion science, cellular pathology or other clinically relevant fields. A PhD is not required, but applicants with significant experience in clinical or medical/biomedical practice will be considered.
This role offers a unique chance to contribute to the design, organisation and delivery of Biomedical Science courses at undergraduate and postgraduate level. The successful candidate will also support the application for IBMS accreditation of our Biomedical Science course and liaise with external partners to provide clinical laboratory placements for students.
The salary for this position is estimated to be around £60,000-£80,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities
- Teaching specialist modules in Biomedical Science
- Supporting the application for IBMS accreditation of our Biomedical Science course
- Liaising with external partners to provide clinical laboratory placements for students
- Contributing to the design, organisation and delivery of Biomedical Science courses at undergraduate and postgraduate level
Person Specification
- Essential:
- Experience in a clinical laboratory setting and/or medical/biomedical practice
- Expertise in a specialised biomedical subject
- Experience teaching/training in a practice setting and/or higher education setting
- Desirable:
- Leadership experience in a clinical laboratory setting and/or medical/biomedical practice
- Understanding of professional standards, regulation and accreditation of Biomedical Science programmes (IBMS)
