Job Summary

Linxon Pvt Ltd is seeking a highly skilled Electrical Systems Engineer to join our UK Engineering Team. As a core member of the team, you will contribute to the effective operation of projects and design protection and control systems.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Design secondary systems, control, and protection up to 400kV to meet contract requirements.
  2. Enable effective project delivery by preparation and verification of:
    1. Design Intent Documents (DID).
    2. Secondary designs including SLD, KLD, AC & DC distribution systems, battery and battery chargers sizing, voltage drop, cable sizing, signal lists, setting calculation, interface lists, cable block diagrams, multicore & fiber optic cable schedules, and cables core sheets, etc.
    3. Specifying CTs & VTs in terms of electrical characteristics and physical size.
    4. Approving supplier designs for a wide range of equipment and packages, including data sheets, loads consumption, scheme drawings, circuit diagrams, wiring diagrams, etc.
  3. Support PreFAT / FAT and commissioning activities.
  4. Provide technical support for tendering, working within defined budgetary objectives, and assisting in preparing proposals and presentations for engineering projects by creating Work Breakdown Structures, providing bills of materials, estimated engineering & drafting hours, and other necessary details.
  5. Offer a flexible approach to work tasks and be prepared to work additional hours when necessary to ensure the successful delivery of the project.
  6. Participate in design and hazard review meetings and ensure design risk assessments/HAZID's are in place for all design solutions and that residual risks are passed on to the H&S file. Positively influence design and construction safety performance aiming for zero accidents.
  7. Coordinate with the client, project management, primary and civil engineering teams, as well as other interfaces, to ensure the delivery of high-quality technical outputs within the agreed delivery timescales and budget.

Requirements

  1. Minimum qualification of a bachelor's or master's degree in electrical or electronics engineering, with extensive years of experience in transmission and distribution (ranging from 11kV to 400kV).
  2. Experience as a Contractor Design Approval Engineer (CDAE) / Lead Contractor Design Approval Engineer (LCDAE), as defined by National Grid's NG/ET/SR188 procedure will be an advantage.
  3. Proficiency in generating and comprehensive understanding of engineering design, particularly in secondary engineering for GIS and AIS substations.
  4. Understanding / Knowledge of Distribution Network Operator / National Grid etc.
  5. Working knowledge of Windows, MS Office, Amtech & Autocad.
  6. Strive for continuous improvement in implementation standards and costs.
