Job Description

Senior Engineer – Power Electronics Systems Engineering

European Tech Recruit is seeking an experienced Power Electronics Systems Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in power electronics and experience in leading the development of power electronics hardware and software traction drive and power conversion systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead the capture of requirements and support the development of power electronics hardware and software traction drive and power conversion systems
  2. Lead/support the testing of power electronics hardware and software
  3. Capture and analyse requirements from different stakeholders
  4. Disseminate requirements to appropriate teams for action
  5. Support the development of electrical and electronics architecture for e-drive applications including HV harness and connectors schematics
  6. Prepare/develop test plans and methods
  7. Provide expertise for investigations and problem-solving activities
  8. Lead the System DFMEA and support functional safety analysis
  9. Ensure compliance with relevant EMC/EMI standards
  10. Manage the technical delivery of suppliers

About the Role

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of power electronics and experience in leading the development of power electronics hardware and software traction drive and power conversion systems. They will be responsible for leading the capture of requirements and supporting the development of power electronics hardware and software traction drive and power conversion systems.

Requirements:

  1. Strong numeracy and literacy
  2. Five to ten years' experience is required, preferably some of this will be in automotive
  3. Good logical reasoning
  4. Deep experience of Power Electronics, ideally including Automotive Inverters
  5. Knowledge of power electronic devices and how they are integrated into the HV electrical system
  6. Experience of developing hardware to meet IEC or domain specific variant, e.g. ISO 26262)
  7. Experience of specification, development, and test of power electronic devices such as inverters
  8. Experience of working with teams of engineers designing and testing power electronics
  9. Evidence of achieving results through effective work against objectives
  10. Good communication skills
