Your Role and Responsibilities

  • Take the commercial lead on high-stakes projects, advising on the financial feasibility of projects during the early stages.
  • Contribute to Stage 2 tenders by creating cost plans, business cases, and procuring sub-contract supply chains.
  • Organize the division of projects into component work packages for procurement, assessing returns, negotiating with sub-contractors to secure the best value, and awarding work packages accordingly.
  • Manage projects in line with NEC / JCT contracts, ensuring all risks are identified and mitigated, and commercial opportunities are maximized.
  • Oversee project cash flow, monitoring, and measuring actual expenditure against budgeted project expenditure through Cost Value Reconciliation (CVR) reports.

What We Are Looking For

  • Extensive experience working on large 2-stage bids within a Tier 1 contractor environment.
  • Expert knowledge of NEC and JCT contract conditions.
  • Proven track record as a commercial lead on high-value construction projects.
  • Strong understanding of procurement and sub-contractor management.
  • Proficiency in creating in-depth commercial reports.
