Job Title: Clinical Psychologist Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Psychologist to join our team at the Helen Bamber Foundation. As a Clinical Psychologist Specialist, you will be responsible for delivering highly specialized psychological assessments and providing evidence-based therapies to clients. You will also be involved in the preparation of medico-legal reports and contribute to the development of policies and procedures.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialist psychological assessments and deliver trauma-focused psychological therapies to clients.
  • Train in the preparation of medico-legal reports and contribute to the preparation of these reports for clients.
  • Develop and carry out audits and research projects, providing internal and external training in collaboration with your line manager.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of interventions provided and provide feedback to funding bodies in the form of data and reports.
  • Promote the work of the Helen Bamber Foundation at conferences and other events.

Personal Professional Development:

  • Ensure your Continuing Professional Development requirements of the Health and Care Professions Council and other governing bodies.
  • Ensure you are up to date with relevant literature and research relevant to the client group and attend appropriate training as necessary.

Person Specification:

  • Have successfully completed a recognized doctoral level training in Clinical Psychology (DClinPsy) and to have completed a range of clinical placements during training.
  • To be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
  • Have experience in working clinically with clients with PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) and other trauma spectrum disorders.
  • Have experience of delivering therapy for the treatment of PTSD using trauma focused CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing), or Narrative Exposure Therapy.
  • Have experience in assessing and providing evidence-based therapies to individuals from a range of cultural backgrounds, and through interpreters.
  • Have a working knowledge of the legal, political, and social issues in the human rights, asylum & refugee, and health sectors.
  • Computer literate and confident in using all MS Office software. Understanding of, and commitment to, the objectives of the Helen Bamber Foundation.
  • Understand and Implement trauma-informed practice and systems Experience of providing clinical supervision.

If appointed, you will be required to give your consent to HBF to receive regular updates on your criminal records status and to disclose any relevant convictions incurred during your time with us.
