About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Group Accountant to join our team at Hiscox. As a Group Accountant, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of our financial reporting, while also providing support to the wider Finance team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of high-quality financial reports, including consolidated monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, in compliance with IFRS and Solvency II regulatory guidance.
  • Maintain and enhance the financial control environment, including the development and implementation of financial processes and procedures.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including Business Unit finance teams and external auditors.
  • Streamline and automate finance processes, leveraging technology enablers and best practices.
  • Support the development of a continuous improvement culture, utilizing external insights and best practices.
  • Actively support Finance and Group-wide projects relevant to the role.

Requirements:

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA/CIMA/ACCA)
  • Good technical and financial reporting knowledge within the financial services sector, preferably the insurance sector.
  • Ability to constructively challenge and analyze results.
  • Hands-on approach and keen eye for detail.
  • Strong control mindset and experience.
  • Good problem-solving skills.
  • Pragmatic decision maker.
  • Enthusiastic, curious, and 'can-do' attitude.
