About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Named Nurse for Safeguarding to join our team at North Bristol NHS Trust. As a key member of our safeguarding senior leadership team, you will play a crucial role in developing and implementing effective safeguarding children practice across our organisation.

Your primary responsibility will be to provide expert guidance and support to our staff, ensuring that they have the necessary knowledge and skills to identify and respond to safeguarding concerns. You will work closely with our safeguarding colleagues, including the Named Doctors and Named Midwife for Safeguarding, to lead on the development of safeguarding children practice and ensure that we meet our statutory requirements.

As a specialist in child protection and welfare, you will be responsible for providing training, supervision, and oversight of complex cases. You will also liaise with external agencies, including Children's Social Care teams and Local Safeguarding Children Partnerships, to ensure that we are working effectively together to protect vulnerable children and young people.

To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate a strong commitment to safeguarding children and a deep understanding of the statutory frameworks and guidelines that govern our practice. You will also need to possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective safeguarding children practice across the organisation
  • Provide expert guidance and support to staff on safeguarding children concerns
  • Lead on the development of safeguarding children policy and procedures
  • Liaise with external agencies to ensure effective multi-agency working
  • Provide training and supervision to staff on safeguarding children practice

Salary and Benefits

The salary for this role is £53,755 - £60,504 per annum, depending on experience. In addition to your salary, you will receive a range of benefits, including pension scheme membership, life insurance, and annual leave entitlement.
