Residential Care Worker

At Acorn Homes Group, we are committed to providing high-quality care and support to vulnerable children. We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Residential Support Worker to join our team in Ramsgate.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with children and young people, helping them to develop life skills and participate in a range of leisure activities, educational interests, and social opportunities. Our Residential Support Workers play a vital role in ensuring the physical, psychological, emotional, and recreational development of our residents, in line with their individual care plans.
We offer a competitive salary of £30,160 per annum, including £40 per sleep shift, and the opportunity to further your skills by funding your NVQ level 3 in childcare. Our benefits package includes flexible working hours, a staff loyalty scheme, and a range of discounts and rewards through our Blue Light Card.
As a Residential Support Worker, you will be responsible for delivering high standards of care, protection, and support to our residents. This will involve motivating, aiding, and guiding them in their self-development, as well as setting appropriate examples for them at all times. You will also be required to manage challenging behaviour and guide staff in managing that behaviour.
We are looking for someone who is able to communicate clearly and effectively, both with colleagues and residents, verbally and in writing. You will also need to be able to organise, plan, and take responsibility, as well as react calmly in stressful situations.

Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high standards of care, protection, and support to residents
- Motivate, aid, and guide residents in their self-development
- Manage challenging behaviour and guide staff in managing that behaviour
- Communicate clearly and effectively with colleagues and residents
- Organise, plan, and take responsibility for tasks and activities
Requirements:
- Diploma Level 3 in Health and Social Care with Children and Young People
- Ability to work early, late, and night shifts, including sleepovers
- Over 21 years old
Desirable Requirements:
- Two years experience working in a children's home
- Full UK driving license
