Release Manager

As a Release Manager at Ascent People Ltd, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire release process, ensuring quality standards are consistently met at each stage, and coordinating releases and teams at all levels.
Key Responsibilities:- Monitor release progress through the pipeline and ensure adherence to release management governance by delivery teams.
- Facilitate communication channels among delivery roles and with stakeholders, and continuously improve release management practices.
- Work with executive team members, decision-makers, and stakeholders to define business requirements and systems goals that can be achieved with release management enhancements.
- Lead deployment activities for all products, infrastructure, and operating systems.
- Conduct research on release management practices and provide recommendations for release management improvements.
- Produce release management reports for senior management.
- Negotiate, plan, and manage all release activities, leading and coordinating go-live execution and deployment.
- Assist in managing projects to ensure milestone project milestones are met.
- Assist product and service teams in planning releases and proactively schedule release windows across projects and portfolios.
- Ensure a detailed deployment and back-out plan is documented, validate product deployment packaging, confirm all release controls are satisfied and signed-off before deployment.
- Participate in release scope discussions, managing risks and issues that could impact scope and schedule.
- Ensure Release Management is integrated with Change Management, Problem Management, and Incident Management.
- Software development lifecycle (SDLC): Understanding of various phases, including development, testing, UAT, deployment, and maintenance.
- Release Management processes: Familiarity with methodologies and best practices for planning, scheduling, and managing releases.
- Project Management: Skills in managing projects, including scheduling, resource allocation, and risk management.
- Understanding of QA processes and testing methodologies to ensure release quality.
- Monitoring and Incident Management: Awareness of monitoring tools and practices for tracking application performance and handling incidents.
- Educated to degree level (high grade) or above in an IT-related field.
- Release Management certifications (preferred).
