About the Role

We are seeking a skilled School Based Clinician to join our team at Community Health Center, Inc. in Broad Brook, Connecticut.

Job Summary

The Behavioral Health Clinician will work with students and their families in a school-based clinic, providing diagnostic evaluations, developing care plans, and offering individual, family, or group therapy as needed. The successful candidate will be responsible for documenting clinical interventions according to CHC policy and state regulatory expectations.

Duties and Responsibilities

Completes initial behavioral health evaluations, individual, group, and family psychotherapy with children and/or adults in an outpatient clinic.Will be expected to run at least five groups per week of direct clinical work.Practices as part of an interdisciplinary team, accepting warm handoffs from primary care providers and other members of the healthcare team.Consults with providers within and outside the agency regarding treatment plans and patient progress.Coordinates with psychiatric consultants for diagnostic and consultative needs; refers patients as necessary for medication management.Attends clinical team meetings and component meetings as assigned.Meets productivity standards outlined annually during performance appraisal reviews, focusing on quality clinical care.Assesses immediate safety concerns, including high-risk patients who may be at risk for homicide, suicide, and domestic violence.Guides clients in developing skills or strategies for dealing with identified goals.Develops and implements treatment plans based on clinical experience and knowledge according to state regulations and joint commission standards.Evaluates the effectiveness of ongoing treatment on clients' progress in resolving identified problems and moving towards defined objectives.Modifies treatment activities or approaches as needed to comply with changes in clients' status.

Requirements

  • Licensure/Certification/Registration: LCSW, LMFT, LPC, or Licensed Clinical Psychologist in the State of Connecticut preferred, or may be license eligible with current Associate license (MLSW, PC-A, MFT-A) with ability to obtain full clinical licensure within 3 years of hire.
  • Minimum of two years of experience working with outpatients, including experience with children and/or adults.
  • Theoretical orientation consistent with brief, problem-focused therapy.
  • Reliable access to an automobile or reliable access to transportation for outside agency consults, meetings, and home visits.
  • Written and oral bilingual fluency in language spoken by patient population preferred.

Salary Information

The estimated annual salary for this position is between $65,000 to $90,000, depending on qualifications and experience. Benefits include comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance, retirement plan, paid time off, and continuing education opportunities.
