Job Summary

Cavendish Professionals is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Yard Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our Ground Works team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient management of our plant machinery, PPE, and tools.

Key Responsibilities
  • Overall Site Operations: Oversee all aspects of the yard, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.
  • Logistics and Transportation Management: Manage logistics and deliveries, including scheduling, driver coordination, and external plant movement with plant suppliers.
  • Plant Maintenance and Inventory: Lead plant maintenance initiatives, including implementing preventive maintenance programs. Manage procurement, distribution, and inventory control of consumables and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Fleet Management: Oversee the company vehicle fleet, ensuring its maintenance, operation, and efficiency.
  • Training and Development: Manage in-house training courses and develop training programs to enhance the skills of our team members.
  • Technology and Optimization: Collaborate with our IT department to enhance existing plant tracking systems. Analyze data to identify areas for improvement in productivity, standards, and resource allocation, fostering optimal return on assets. Identify and eliminate waste and excessive overtime through data analysis.
  • Team Support: Work closely with our Diamond Drilling Contracts Manager to guarantee the team's access to equipment and resources.
  • Professional Development: Attend senior management meetings as required to stay informed and contribute strategic insights.
  • Workplace Improvement: Lead initiatives to improve the comfort and functionality of the Plant Yard office space.
