Boston Hale is seeking a highly skilled Data Governance Strategist to join our Central Data team. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in building innovative tools and ensuring the effective and ethical use of data across our organisation's brands.

About the Role

We are repositioning data governance as a 'force for good' to create competitive advantages for our brands and business units. As a Data Governance Strategist, you will contribute to the strategy and implementation of governance, ensuring our data is protected while enabling its effective and ethical use.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Transition data governance from a compliance-based function to an essential business partner aligned with business goals.
  2. Effectively communicate the role of the Data Enablement team and the value of data governance to stakeholders.
  3. Contribute to defining and executing the overall Data Enablement strategy.
  4. Establish metrics to measure progress in data improvement initiatives.
  5. Translate data governance principles and terminology into relatable language for stakeholders.
  6. Lead and coordinate data management topics such as Data Quality, Information Management, and Data Privacy and Protection.
  7. Collaborate with Data Protection, Cyber Security, Technology, and Brands teams to ensure effective data governance practices.
  8. Define and implement the data governance framework, including policies, guidelines, processes, and roles. Facilitate relevant steering groups or governance forums.
  9. Conduct periodic reviews of data governance maturity and report risks, issues, and improvements to stakeholders.

We are seeking a passionate team player who inspires stakeholders about the value of strong governance practices as a driver of business growth. The ideal candidate will have experience in implementing data governance frameworks, including roles, policies, processes, metrics, and tools.

The successful candidate will also have a strong understanding of the business benefits of data governance and experience in core data management practices such as metadata management, data quality management, and data privacy.

Knowledge of regulatory requirements such as DPA2018, GDPR, CCPA, TcF, and PECR is also essential.
