About the Role

We are seeking an experienced engineer to join our team at East Devon District Council, working on a variety of exciting and challenging projects related to infrastructure, coastal, and flood management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee the delivery of infrastructure projects, including coastal defences, flood defences, and beach management plans.
  • Provide project management, procurement, and design process support to the Engineering Projects Manager.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and local communities to ensure effective communication and project success.
  • Work with a team of engineering professionals to develop and implement projects, and contribute to the growth and development of the team.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant health and safety regulations, such as CDM, and maintain a sound knowledge of legislation and contract management relevant to engineering disciplines.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in project management, procurement, and design process, particularly in infrastructure and coastal projects.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively at all levels.
  • Ability to produce drawings and specifications, and maintain a driving license for travel throughout the district.
  • Desirable: experience with drainage, flooding, and coastal environment issues, and knowledge of relevant legislation and contract management.
