Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated General Medical Doctor to join our team at HMP Isle of Wight. As a Primary Care Physician, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care to a diverse population of approximately 1100 patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive medical assessments and diagnoses to patients, making timely decisions regarding future management.
- Prescribe medications and regularly review patient medications to ensure optimal care.
- Collaborate with the on-site Lead GP, GPs, and ANPs to deliver end-to-end care, including diagnosis, investigation, treatment, and referral as appropriate.
- Work closely with the healthcare team to provide specialist resources and support to patients with complex needs.
Requirements
- MBChB or MBBS degree
- Inclusion on the GMC Register and GP Performers List
- Experience working as a General Practitioner in community general practice
- Ability to work with patients with a history of substance misuse
- RCGP Certificate in Substance Misuse 1 and 2, or prepared to undertake these
