About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Domestic Support Staff Member to join our team at Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a high level of cleaning and maintenance services to our patients and staff.
Main Responsibilities
- To plan and prioritize daily tasks, working effectively with colleagues to ensure a smooth and efficient service.
- To maintain a high level of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the hospital, adhering to Trust policies and procedures.
- To empty and dispose of domestic and clinical waste in accordance with Trust policies.
- To carry out general cleaning tasks, including dusting, polishing, and cleaning of all surfaces.
- To supply and replenish consumables, such as paper towels and toilet rolls.
- To clean sluice rooms, remove dirty linen, and replace linen bags.
- To collect and load/unload dishwasher.
- To move and clean furniture, including beds and chairs.
- To maintain floor areas and surfaces, using appropriate equipment and methods.
- To ensure that all spillages are cleaned up and hazard notices are placed appropriately.

Requirements
- Experience of working as a domestic or in a similar role.
- Ability to manage a varied workload and prioritize effectively.
- Understanding of confidentiality constraints.
- Good communication skills, particularly with patients who are unwell or unable to communicate clearly.
- Ability to deal with clinical waste, smells, bodily excretions/fluids, and dirt.
