About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Social Worker to lead our Children's Social Work Team at MEDWAY COUNCIL.

As a Senior Social Worker, you will be responsible for assessing complex cases, developing care plans, and leading interventions to achieve positive outcomes for children and families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safeguard and promote the wellbeing of vulnerable children and young people through high-quality social work practice.
  • Undertake focused, analytical assessments and SMART plans with clear objectives and outcome measures.
  • Demonstrate expert and effective practice in complex situations, including relationship-based and strengths-based approaches.
  • Work collaboratively with children, young people, families, and organizations to deliver services.
  • Provide expert advice and support to less experienced staff, contributing to their development and maintaining high practice standards.
  • Lead on an area of practice within the team or service, supporting others in enhancing their knowledge and skills.
  • Prepare clear, structured, and concise reports for meetings and court proceedings as required.
  • Participate in regular supervision, critically reflecting on case work and promoting continuous learning and development.
  • Stay up-to-date with research findings, theoretical models, and innovative practices to inform evidence-informed practice.
  • Contribute to service development aligned with local plans, initiatives, and strategies.
