About the Role

A customer-focused Engineering Manager is needed to lead a team of Service Engineers and manage a Technical Support Help Desk. Occasional travel to customer sites may be required. The ideal candidate will have experience in managing a team and possess strong commercial and negotiation skills.

The company is a well-established supplier of high-speed machine tools to various precision engineering companies. They provide excellent training to their customers and internal staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supporting machine tool sales and warranties.
  • Managing the technical helpdesk.
  • Supporting service engineers with onsite customer issues.
  • Assisting regional team leaders.
  • Providing diagnosis and root cause analysis for service issues.
  • Motivating and mentoring the service team.
  • Demonstrating good commercial awareness and negotiation skills.

Essential Requirements:

  • Proven experience in managing a team of service engineers and technical support staff.
  • Strong commercial acumen with effective customer service and negotiation skills.
  • Engineering Management experience is essential, with a preference for candidates with machine tool knowledge.
  • Engineering degree is preferred but not essential.
  • UK driving license required.
  • Health and Safety knowledge is paramount; IOSHH or equivalent certification would be an advantage.
  • Candidates need to be IT literate.
