Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Materials Compliance Engineer to join our team at CV-Library. As a key member of our automotive client's compliance team, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with national, European, and international regulations related to substances and materials.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and implement strategies to ensure compliance with regulations and company standards.
  2. Collaborate with the Materials Regulations, Compliance, and Sustainability section to achieve compliance goals.
  3. Work cross-functionally with R&D, Manufacturing, and After-sales teams to support Parts Design, Vehicle Development, and Materials Testing/Validation.
  4. Coordinate the gathering and validation of substances and materials composition information for Automotive vehicles and parts.
  5. Monitor compliance with regulations related to substances (POP, REACH, CLP) and materials (ELV, RRR).
  6. Control vehicle interior air quality by testing materials, parts, and vehicles for their emissions of volatile organic compounds (VOCs).
  7. Secure the modification of articles and chemicals towards the use of suitable substances and materials with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
  8. Present vehicle compliance status reports to senior management in accordance with vehicle development milestones.
Requirements:
  1. 5 years' experience in industry and successful experience in relation to compliance or regulatory activities, preferably applied to substances and materials.
  2. Degree qualified (or equivalent) in chemistry / materials science.
  3. Knowledge of International Material Data System (IMDS).
  4. Knowledge of iPoint software (iPoint Compliance Agent and its modules).
  5. Practical experience in problem-solving tools and techniques.
  6. Competent with PC applications including Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Project.
  7. Ability to prioritise and multitask between multiple projects simultaneously.
  8. Self-motivating and self-managing. Pro-active, positive, energetic personality and flexible regarding working practice and hours.
  9. Ability to travel abroad, typically a few days to 2 weeks; on rare occasions, travel may be long distance and/or at short notice.
  10. Valid UK/European driving licence is a MUST.
Working Hours and Pay:
  1. Monday to Friday
  2. 39 hours per week
  3. £27.00 p/h
