Role Overview

We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at an outstanding SEN school in Dudley. As a key member of the staff, you will provide tailored support for pupils with severe and profound learning difficulties, including those with Autism Spectrum Conditions and complex medical needs.

About the Role

The successful candidate will work closely with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to develop personalized approaches for each pupil. You will assist students in overcoming barriers to learning, developing confidence, and achieving their potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide individualized support to SEN pupils, working one-to-one or in small groups
  • Help students overcome challenges and build confidence through effective strategies and behavior management
  • Assist with classroom tasks and contribute to a positive learning environment
  • Motivate and inspire students to engage actively in their education
  • Prioritize student well-being and safety at all times

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • Previous experience working with SEN children in a school setting (preferred)
  • Confidence in supporting vulnerable individuals on a 1:1 basis or in small groups
  • A patient, compassionate, and adaptable approach to learning and behavior support
  • A genuine passion for helping young people achieve their potential
