About the Role

Oxford Instruments Plc is seeking a skilled Production Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for the assembly and build of high-tech products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble and build complex systems, sub-assemblies, and piece parts to meet quality standards and schedules.
  • Ensure that product requirements are met, including Bill of Materials (BOM) and customer specifications.
  • Identify and resolve build problems, and report technical issues using the Failure Reporting, Analysis, and Corrective Action System (FRACAS).
  • Maintain technical competence through necessary training and development.
  • Provide guidance and training to less experienced technicians.
  • Contribute to the performance of the production team through continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Work on a rotating shift pattern, as assigned by the team leader.

Requirements

  • Time served Mechanical apprenticeship or City and Guilds part 3, or HND, HNC, or BTech level 3.
  • Detail fitting skills to precision level, including machining, vacuum and pneumatics, pipe bending, and ability to read mechanical drawings.
  • Ability to fault find and implement corrective action.
  • Ideal qualifications include relevant Electrical Qualifications and combination of mechanical, electrical, and electronic assembly skills.
  • Ideal experience includes working in the semiconductor industry.
  • PC skills and good communication skills.
