Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at a vibrant primary school in the Barnstaple area. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide targeted support to students with SEN, ensuring their individual learning needs are met
  • Assist the class teacher in creating an inclusive and engaging learning environment
  • Work closely with the SENCO and other staff to implement and follow individual education plans (IEPs)
  • Offer social and emotional support to pupils through one-on-one and small group sessions
  • Track and report on student progress, working to ensure each child reaches their potential
Requirements:
  • Previous experience as a teaching assistant or similar role is beneficial but not essential
  • A genuine passion for working with children with SEN and helping them to succeed
  • Patience, understanding, and a caring nature
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A commitment to safeguarding and child welfare
