Job Description:
The Supply Register is seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at Milestone Academy in Kent. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with a range of special educational needs.
Responsibilities:
- Assist teachers with learning activities, ensuring the health and safety of pupils and maintaining a clean and orderly working environment.
- Support pupils in accessing learning activities, promoting their progress towards targets and ensuring equal access to opportunities.
- Provide clerical and administrative support, including typing, photocopying, and recording keeping.
- Contribute to the overall work and aims of the school, appreciating and supporting the role of colleagues and other professionals.
- Implement behavior management programs for pupils with severe learning and/or emotional problems.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children with special educational needs.
- Basic technology skills within an education setting.
- Knowledge of policies and procedures relating to child protection, health, safety, security, equal opportunities, and confidentiality.
- Ability to relate well to children and adults, understanding their needs and responding accordingly.
- Good influencing skills to encourage pupils to interact with others and be socially responsible.
- First Aid qualification an advantage but not essential.
- Right to work in the UK.
- Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service or willing to process one.
- Minimum of 2 professional references covering the last 2 years.
