We are seeking a Data Architect to join our team at Roke, a company that protects what matters most to our clients. As a Data Architect, you will be responsible for the strategy, architecture, and high-level design of data-intensive solutions. You will also support Client Managers directly in a pre-sales capacity to develop relationships and solutions that can support future business growth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop data strategy for Defence customers and define the appropriate level of governance needed.
  • Communicate data strategy to non-technical stakeholders and technical experts.
  • Define architecture for data software and analytics solutions.
  • Represent Roke and its technical solutions and capabilities toward client communities.
  • Provide technical guidance and coaching to junior members of the team.

As a Data Architect, you will have a degree-level qualification in a STEM subject or comparable education and experience. You will have experience of data architecture and data strategy in a UK Defence or other Public Sector context, as well as good understanding of structured and unstructured data and techniques needed to exploit them.

Requirements:
  • Experience of working with data and software engineers to provide deliverable solutions to complex data problems.
  • Experience of working in an Agile Framework.
  • Experience of building and specifying data pipelines in a Cloud environment (Azure, AWS, GCP).
  • Knowledge of commercial and contractual frameworks.
  • Scrum-master and/or Product Owner experience.
