The Courier Driver will be responsible for:

  • Carrying out courier journeys to various locations and agreed routes and timings.
  • Completing digital and manual documentation required by legislation and organisational procedures.
  • Maintaining regular contact with the operations office using a range of communication systems.
  • Ensuring all items are kept safe and secure at all times.
  • Complying with the Road Traffic Act while driving and other relevant legislation connected to the vehicle.
  • Acting as customer contact at delivery points of service and relaying relevant information to the operations office.
  • Completing vehicle checks prior to use and notifying any defects to the Operations Office verbally and by recording on appropriate documentation.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • The ability to work on own initiative.
  • Must be able to plan routes effectively.
  • Must be a good communicator.
  • Customer focus.
  • Team work.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Able to remain calm under pressure.
  • Good problem solving skills.
  • Good communicator.
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Must be able to use a PDA (training will be given).
  • Good/Clear handwriting.
  • You MUST have held a Full UK Manual Driving Licence for a minimum of 12 months and have no more than 6 penalty points.
