Support Worker for Young Adult with Complex Needs

About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate support worker to provide 2:1 care for a young adult with complex medical needs. The successful candidate will assist with daily living tasks, communication, and social activities, while also supporting the individual's academic pursuits at university.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide personal care and assistance with daily living tasks
- Act as a communication partner and support with e-tran spelling board
- Accompany the individual on university and social activities
- Assist with household duties and errands
Requirements
- Experience working with individuals with complex medical needs
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Full driving licence and ability to drive the client's large vehicle
Working Arrangements
The role offers 24 hours per week, working a mix of days, afternoons, evenings, and occasionally overnight. Staff may be asked to stay on later if the individual has social activities planned. The rota is agreed a month in advance, and preferred days to work/not work are accommodated where possible.
Pay and Benefits
The successful candidate will receive a competitive hourly rate, with premium rates for night and weekend work. Applicants must be able to undergo an enhanced DBS check and provide references. Bush & Co are acting as agents for the client.
