Job Title: Senior Quantity Surveyor

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team at Nicholas Associates Group Limited. As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for controlling costs of groundworks projects, ensuring they are running efficiently, effectively, profitably, and safely.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Controlling costs of groundworks projects to ensure they are running efficiently, effectively, profitably, and safely.
  • Measuring all site works accurately.
  • Providing early cost advice to clients on variations.
  • Identifying commercial risks and providing appropriate solutions or responses.
  • Undertaking cost analysis working with company buyers and advising on procurement and cost control.
  • Producing a range of cost value reports.
  • Valuing completed work, ensuring timely payments.
  • Understanding the importance of cash flow and timely payments, including retention payments.
  • Building strong relationships with client staff and company production staff.
  • Allocating work to subcontractors, including assistance with procurement when required.
  • Assisting with the development of any assistants or trainees.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3-5 years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor.
  • Experience of working for a residential groundworks sub-contractor.
  • Knowledge of contractual terms within groundworks.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Effective communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Identifying and resolving problems quickly and efficiently.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Team player.
  • Ability to establish and build positive relationships.
