About the Role

This exciting opportunity is available for a Graduate Production Engineer at our Barry Site in the UK. As a vital member of our operations team, you will apply your technical skills to optimize plant performance, resolve issues, and ensure safe and efficient production of Steam and Power.

The Utilities Combined Heat and Power (CHP) facility at Barry comprises Electrical infrastructure, High and Medium Pressure Steam generators, Steam and Gas Turbines, Gas Compressors, and a Boiler Feed Water Treatment process.

  • Key Responsibilities:
    • Utilize Most Effective Technology (MET) to enhance process automation and optimize plant performance.
    • Analyze asset utilization losses and document root causes, ensuring adherence to procedures and precautions.
    • Conduct daily reviews of logbook and alarm history to understand plant operation and engage with daily activities.
    • Maintain and review daily Key Process Indicators (KPI)/trends to ensure optimum performance.
    • Respond urgently to plant issues and emergencies, providing leadership and expertise during unplanned events.
    • Ensure compliance with plant operating permits.

Requirements

  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering, electrical engineering, or mechanical engineering.
  • 1-2 years of experience working within CHP Steam and Power Generating assets.
  • Previous internship or co-op in a petrochemical manufacturing environment.
