Meritus Talent is partnering with a leading Aerospace and Defence organisation to recruit a Hardware Lead Engineer for a contract position.

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Hardware Lead Engineer to join our team on a contract basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and testing modem system hardware, ensuring compliance with military-level design and test standards.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Develop and implement user needs capture, requirements analysis, and design response at sub-system and module levels.
  2. Conduct acceptance testing and fault diagnosis at module and integrated unit levels.
  3. Perform environmental qualification testing.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in designing mixed-signal electronics, including RF/analogue and digital circuit boards.
  • Knowledge of military-level design and test standards (Mil-Std 810) and regulatory environment related to achieving CE/UKCA marks.
  • Ability to test and diagnose circuit boards in final installation.
  • Experience in generating test documentation for individual circuit boards and integrated units.

Desirable Skills

  • Familiarity with Aircraft-level design and test standards (DO-254/DO-178/DO-160).
  • Proficiency in schematic design and circuit board layout design using Mentor Graphics.
