Job Title: Section Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Section Engineer to join our team at Laing O'Rourke / Expanded on a major infrastructure project in Milton Keynes. As a Section Engineer, you will play a crucial role in supporting the development of designs, planning, and costing for reinforced concrete structures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the development of designs, planning, and costing for reinforced concrete structures
  • Draft scopes under NRSWA for the mitigation, including coordination of subcontractors and agreeing the works
  • Coordinate site and construction works, including logistic and programme planning
  • Provide accurate dimensional control and check that established by others, to enable the works to be constructed to the required tolerances as defined by the Contract/design documents
  • Assist site foremen and managers in supervising site operatives and sub-contractors, ensuring that the works are constructed in accordance with design drawings, specifications, and standards as defined by the contract documents
  • Produce method statements and risk assessments to be approved by supervising engineers/managers and ensure that site operations take place in accordance with documents which detail safe systems of work

Requirements:

  • 3-4 years' experience within an engineering role
  • Degree qualified in Civil Engineering
  • Knowledge of self-delivery and understanding of offsite manufacturing
  • Basic understanding of BIM
  • Commercial awareness and competent with Microsoft packages, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
