High-Level Administrative Support Specialist

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled individual to provide a proficient and streamlined administrative service to the Leadership Team of the Genomic Surveillance Unit (GSU) at the Wellcome Sanger Institute.

As Senior Administrator, you will consolidate administrative, personal assistant, and programme support for members of GSU's Leadership Teams, ensuring that all administrative processes are managed effectively and efficiently across the GSU.

This hybrid role requires at least three days a week on our beautiful campus, where you will work collaboratively with one other Senior Administrator to act as a key point of contact for matters of an administrative nature.

About the Role:

You will be responsible for:

  • Diary and inbox management and coordination
  • Event planning and management
  • Organisation of travel
  • Administrative arrangements for visitors to the GSU
  • Other administrative tasks such as purchasing, taking minutes of meetings, completing paperwork, and processing expenses

About You:

To excel in this role, you should have substantial experience in providing high-level administrative support to senior managers, including the proactive management of complex diaries and inboxes.

You will be highly organised, efficient, self-motivated, and energetic, able to work independently in a dynamic environment with flexibility, adjusting to varying priorities as necessary and finding solutions to challenges that arise.
