Homeless Prevention Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and passionate individual to join our team as a Regional Homelessness Prevention Champion. As a champion, you will play a vital role in tackling homelessness in your local area, working closely with landlords, tenants, and letting agents to prevent evictions and sustain tenancies.
Our Homeless Prevention Service has been successful in preventing homelessness and sustaining tenancies in London, and we are now looking to expand our reach across the country. As a Regional Champion, you will be responsible for supporting families who are facing similar challenges in your local community, using our proven process to guide them to successful Homeless Prevention outcomes.
You will be taught and guided on how to carry out the tasks required for this role, including case vetting, case management, negotiating Homeless Prevention outcomes, and managing relationships with landlords and letting agents. You will also have access to our training and support to ensure you are confident and competent in your role.
Key Responsibilities- Case vetting: Speak to landlords and letting agents who are facing a challenge and see if we can support them with our Homeless Prevention Service.
- Case management: For families that we can accept, support them with making 'At-risk of homelessness' applications with their local council.
- Negotiating Homeless Prevention outcomes: Work with families to negotiate a suitable outcome that ensures a win-win for all parties involved.
- Relationship management: Build and maintain relationships with landlords and letting agents, creating a community that knows and trusts our services.
We are looking for someone who is driven, self-motivated, and passionate about improving the lives of others. You will need to be able to commit to working as a Regional Champion and serving your community on a full-time or part-time basis.
While previous experience is not required, having a working knowledge of Part 6 and 7 of the Housing Act 2017, the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017, and Universal Credit, Housing Benefit, and Discretionary Housing Payments systems would be beneficial.

As a Regional Champion, you will earn a fee for each family you prevent from becoming homeless, with a potential earning of £32,000 in your first year. You will also have the opportunity to build a business that sustains itself, working with landlords, tenants, and letting agents to prevent homelessness and sustain tenancies.
