Role Description

GSL Education - London seeks a highly skilled and empathetic Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant to support students with diverse learning needs in a 2-form entry primary school in Lewisham.

About the Job

  • Provide individualised support to students with SEMH needs, promoting academic and personal growth.
  • Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment that caters to the diverse needs of all students.
  • Collaborate with educators to develop and implement personalised support plans and behaviour strategies.
  • Establish strong relationships with students to enhance their confidence and independence.
  • Offer additional support across various age groups and learning levels as needed.

Requirements and Skills

  • Desirable: Previous experience in an SEMH or SEN-focused role; however, newly graduated individuals are encouraged to apply.
  • Essential: Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
  • Ability to work both as part of a team and independently.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • A proactive, compassionate, and resilient approach to supporting children.
