Anaesthetist Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Consultant Anaesthetist to join our dynamic team at King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Anaesthesia Department, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our services.
Key Responsibilities- Provide anaesthesia services for patients undergoing general, major, and high-risk surgery, as well as trauma and emergency cases.
- Supervise and mentor junior medical staff, ensuring they receive the necessary training and support to excel in their roles.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of departmental research interests, in line with the Trust's R&D framework.
- Participate in audit programmes, morbidity and mortality reviews, and clinical governance initiatives to ensure the highest standards of patient care.
- Take an active role in the formulation, implementation, and monitoring of the department's business plan, including service planning and development with internal and external agencies.
- Exercise professional leadership for all staff working in the specialty, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Work collaboratively with clinical and other professional colleagues to ensure the productivity and job satisfaction of staff within the specialty are maintained.
- Undertake divisional management duties as agreed with the Divisional/Departmental Manager/Clinical Director.
- Comply with all Trust infection prevention and control policies, including hand hygiene, personal hygiene, environmental, and food hygiene.

Person SpecificationWe are looking for a Consultant Anaesthetist with the following qualifications and experience:
- Registerable medical qualification
- FRCA or equivalent
- Full Registration with GMC and completed subspecialty training programme in anaesthesia
- Eligible to apply for a Substantive Consultant post - CCT or within 6 months of completion
- Wide experience in delivery of anaesthesia for general, major/high risk surgery and trauma/cepod surgery
- Award of CCT or equivalent
