The successful candidate will be part of the Forensic Psychiatry Service and the Adult Clinical Psychology Service within the Aneurin Bevan University Health Board.

The post-holder will support the provision of a psychological service to our two male forensic inpatient wards: a locked rehabilitation ward and an open rehabilitation ward, alongside the registrant psychologists. The post is full-time at 37.5 hours per week.

The post-holder will be expected to work alongside Registrant Psychologists to develop formulations and treatment plans to address the presenting difficulties of clients that are based on the units. You will also be joining a thriving adult psychology specialty who meet regularly and provide a sense of professional identity and belonging. Opportunities for peer support are also available through the adult psychology specialty and wider psychology network.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake psychological assessments and interventions as part of the multi-professional team and as delegated by the Registrant Psychologist.
  • Form relationships with service users with highly complex mental health needs.
  • Conduct clinically relevant research, service evaluation, and audit as guided by the Registrant Psychologist.
